IEM Board

In 2013 Rowena Serno Groen (daughter of Marciana Serno) and her husband, Rutger Groen, assumed the leadership of the Stella Maris International Schools. With the support of the teachers, staff and community SMIS, they are continuing the dream of Marciana Serno to support education in Mozambique.

In 2014, the school’s leadership created the Foundation for International Education Mozambique to support this dream. The Foundation for International Education Foundation Mozambique received a Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) status from the Dutch Government (tax office) in June of 2014.
