Stella Maris International School (SMIS) is a private co-educational school-which aims to educate people of all races. SMIS, founded in 1988, uses English as a medium of instruction and has four campuses across Mozambique (Beira, Nacala, Nampula and Quelimane). SMIS is uniquely qualified to provide an internationally focused education to students from age 3 through graduation from grade 12.  

Curriculum

The schools are qualified to teach and examine a range of internationally accepted qualifications-including CIE, IGCSE (International General Curriculum for Secondary Education), A and AS level (Advanced Subsidiary). The school is guided by the Cambridge curriculum which strives to develop the human person who contributes positively to the welfare of the society.

Approximately 90% of the students are Mozambican. The school offers classes from Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 12.

  • Pre-School: Playgroup, Preparatory, Kindergarten I and Kindergarten II
  • Grade School: Grade 1 up to Grade 6
  • High School: Grade 7 up to Grade 11
  • Cambridge IGCSE for Grade 11 and AS / A for the Grade 12 students
